I love, love, LOVE the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper pack from Stampin' Up! This amazing patterned paper is absolutely gorgeous. The color combinations are stunning and work for any season, even though this paper pack is in the August-December Mini Catalog. There is such a variety of color combinations from bright, to earthy, to black and white. If you love plaid, this 6" x 6" paper stack is for you!
I'm hopping with the Pretty Cards and Papers International Design Team again today. I love blog hopping with these fabulous designers! This month, everyone is using either the Plaid Tidings or the Gilded Autumn patterned papers. Both of these paper packs are awesome and the handmade cards that everyone has made with them are fabulous too! I hope you'll take a few minutes and click through the whole hop to see all of their work. You'll find the full list of designers at the end of this post.
So, on y go! Let's get stamping.
Simple Card Idea with the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set
I stamped the greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set with Blackberry Bliss ink on a Whisper White circle cut with the Stitched Shape dies. I adhered the leaves under the sentiment and added a bow made with Linen Thread. Then, I adhered the greeting circle using Stampin' Dimensionals over the ends of the leaves and the center of the bow. To finish the card, I added some Bumblebee Enamel Dots.
The bow on this card is gold cord from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack. I also added a few iridescent pearls which work perfectly on this card.
Thanks for visiting my blog today. I hope you'll take the time to check out all of the amazing designers for today's Pretty Cards & Papers International Design Team blog hop.
I am excited to share this set of handmade greeting cards in a matching gift box as my contribution to the Stampin' Friends September Blog Hop. The theme this month is the Outdoors, Fall, and Halloween. (Because some of our designers come from the Southern Hemisphere, you may see some spring cards too!) I thought this gift box full of note cards was a perfect little gift for fall. The complete supply list for today's projects can be found all the way at the end of this post.
For my first card, I started by stamping the fern image from the Forever Fern stamp set with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then, I added small dots around the outside with the light Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blend alcohol marker. This first set of dots are very close together and near the stamped image.
After I went all the way around the image, I went back and added a few dots that were spread out further from the stamped image. The idea is to have the dots be the densest next to the stamped image and then fade into the white background. Then, I used the light Old Olive Stampin' Blend alcohol marker to go around the image again at the edge of the closest Granny Apply Green dots. I added dots close together near the image and further away at the edges. Finally, I added a few more dots with the dark Old Olive Stampin' Blend closest to the stamped fern.
I stamped the "Hello" from the Forever Fern stamp set and cut the fern using a square from the Stitched Shapes dies and used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere it to a piece of Old Olive cardstock that had been embossed with the basket weave pattern from the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders. I tied it with a piece of Linen Thread and adhered it to a note card.

Sample Card using the Dino Days stamp set
My first sample card idea uses the Dino Days stamp set. (Did you know the Dino Roar patterned paper from the last catalog is currently available on the Clearance Rack for only $4.60? It's an amazing deal!) I stamped the dinosaur in Coastal Cabana ink and added a the spots with Gorgeous Grape ink. (I used these same spots to stamp the Coastal Cabana cardstock using Coastal Cabana ink.) I placed a mask over the dinosaur before stamping the trees. To create the mask, I stamped the dinosaur on a sticky note and cut it out. The tree trunks were stamped with Soft Suede ink and the leaves are Granny Apple Green. For the sentiment, I chose a stamp from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set. This set has all sorts of "Happy Birthday" greetings.
I stamped the rose centers and the sentiment, also from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, with Blackberry Bliss ink to match the card base. I stamped the leaves with Granny Apple Green ink. For a little bling, I added some Iridescent Pearls to the card front. These pearls are from the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog and are sold as a Halloween embellishment, but I think they look great on any card. They are perfect when you want a dark colored embellishment to ground your images.
